Project title: Andy Warhol – Icons fine art volumes
Ripping Image were commissioned to produce a series of 17 hard back books and a slip case for the Halcyon Gallery, a leading art gallery in London, celebrating the work of Andy Warhol.
Our client required 15 copies of each set so the total number of books was 255.
The books were produced combining digital and lithographic printing processes to achieve the very best quality and price. The covers were litho printed, matt laminated and wrapped around 3mm cover boards. Each book had between 20 and 70 text pages which were digitally printed on 200gsm FSC silk.
Ripping Image case-bound the books in-house unifying the spine width to 10mm which was more aesthetically pleasing when placed into the slip case.
The slip-case was produced by printing on 150gsm silk stock which was then matt laminated, wrapped around 2mm boards, die-cut, glued and made up.
Our client commented that there are many good digital printing companies in London and many lithographic printing companies out of town but could not think of a company that had both printing methods and case binding all under one roof in central London.
